New University Chancellor Elected
Tom Bloxham has been elected Chancellor of The University of Manchester and will take office from 1 August 2008 for seven years. Tom Bloxham, 44, chairman and co-founder of property developer Urban Splash, graduated from Manchester University in 1986 in Politics and Modern History. He replaces Anna Ford and Sir Terry Leahy who have shared the job since 2004.
